I tested Molly-Mae's favourite makeup-up brushes - here's my verdict (2025)

If Molly-Mae loves it, we’re buying it - and these anti-bacterial brushes that the influencer swears by are worth your money.

Taking to her Instagram stories to share a makeup-of-the-day video, Molly-Mae was spotted using both a complexion and an eye brush from Morphe’s new reimagined brushes - and good news, a set of eight of the brushes is available to buy via Lookfantastic for just £40.

Morphe are considered the experts in makeup brushes, having sold over 50 million worldwide, and over 600 designs were rigorously tested in creating this new collection, representing the pinnacle of innovation in makeup application.

But what makes the brushes special, exactly? Each brush bristle has been treated with silver ion technology, which is known to have anti-bacterial effects - a welcome addition for those who suffer from acne, which can sometimes be worsened by using dirty makeup brushes.

The brushes have also been created to use within your daily routine with less fraying, shedding or streaking than standard brushes.

The new collection of makeup brushes from Morphe features 34 complexion and eye brushes, though we think this 8-Piece Face & Eye Brush Set contains everything you need and more for an everyday makeup look.

The budget-friendly set contains four eye brushes and four complexion brushes, including the M104 Domed Foundation Brush, which is used to buff and blend in your favourite foundation, as well as the M133 Domed Concealer Brush, which taps in concealer with a skin-blurring, soft-focus effect.

But what did I think? Firstly, the price for this set is pretty unbeatable, considering that standalone foundation brushes from high-end makeup brands usually retail between £30 to £40.

Not only do they look incredibly slick, but they’re also super soft to the touch, and I found that the kit contained everything I needed to create my everyday look, which contains foundation, concealer, cream complexion products and a bronze eyeshadow.

The M104 applied my foundation like a dream, blending it out in a matter of seconds and providing an airbrushed look as I went along. The M204 Rounded Cream & Liquid Blush Brush is not only great for blush, but also worked well for me while contouring, too.

The eye brushes allowed me to create a seamless blend in terms of my eyeshadow, and I particularly loved the M383 for creating a soft brown eyeliner look - without the messiness and hassle of playing around with liquid eyeliner.

I tested cleaning my foundation brush after a few uses - for this, the brand recommends gently wetting bristles with warm water and a gentle cleanser before swirling any reside out on your hand, rinsing and leaving to dry - and was pleasantly surprised that my brush dried super soft with minimal shedding.

All in all, these are a must-have for anyone looking to upgrade their brush collection without the price tag of replacing each brush individually. As per usual, Molly-Mae was on to something when she recommended these.
